DigitalCAT

The Stenoob Pro 3 and Pro 4 work with DigitalCAT in either Gemini PR (default) or TX Bolt mode. Simply select the matching protocol in DigitalCAT.

1. Verify the COM Port

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.

  2. Expand Ports (COM & LPT).

  3. Look for USB Serial Device (COM#).

  4. If multiple ports are listed, unplug and reconnect the keyboard. The entry that disappears and reappears is your keyboard.

  5. Note the COM# — you'll use it in DigitalCAT.

2. Configure DigitalCAT

  1. Open Translator → Steno Source.

  2. Under Primary Steno Device, select:

    • Gemini Realtime if your keyboard is in Gemini PR mode (default).

    • Baron Realtime if your keyboard is in TX Bolt mode.

  3. Set Port 1 to the COM port you identified above.

  4. Click OK to save.

3. Start Writing

  1. Go to Translator → Start Translation.

  2. Begin writing. Your strokes should now register in DigitalCAT.

Notes

⚠️ Protocol

By default, the keyboard starts in Gemini PR mode. DigitalCAT supports both Gemini PR and TX Bolt. If you'd like to use TX Bolt instead, see the Toggle Protocol guide.

⚠️ General

Only one application can access the COM port at a time. Close other steno software (such as Plover) before connecting to DigitalCAT.
