# Eclipse

The **Stenoob Pro 3** and **Pro 4** work with Eclipse using the **Gemini PR** protocol (default).

* **Gemini PR Mode (default):** Works with Eclipse by selecting **Gemini Revolution** as the writer.

### 1. Verify the COM Port

1. Press **Windows + X** and select **Device Manager**.
2. Expand **Ports (COM & LPT)**.
3. Look for **USB Serial Device (COM#)**.
4. If multiple ports are listed, unplug and reconnect the keyboard. The entry that disappears and reappears is your keyboard.
5. Note the **COM#**—you'll use it in Eclipse.

### 2. Configure Eclipse

1. In Eclipse, go to **Settings → Input**.
2. Under **Writer**, select **Gemini Revolution**.
3. Under **Read From**, choose **COM Port**.
4. Click **Setup** next to **COM Port**.
5. Select the COM port you identified above and save your changes.

### 3. Start Writing

At this time, we do not have direct access to Eclipse to confirm the exact steps for beginning translation. Once the input is configured, you should be able to begin writing by opening a realtime session in Eclipse. If you are unsure, we recommend referring to the Eclipse documentation or support resources.

> ⚠️ **Protocol**
>
> Eclipse is verified to work using **Gemini PR** mode. **TX Bolt** may also work using **Gemini TX** or **Transcriptor X**, but this has not been verified by Stenoob. Until confirmed, we recommend using the default **Gemini PR** mode.

>
> Only one application can access the COM port at a time. Close other steno software (such as Plover) before connecting to Eclipse.
