Now that your keyboard is connected and configured, let's test it to ensure everything is functioning properly.
Open Paper Tape: In the Plover main menu, click the Paper Tape button to open a window that displays your keystrokes. Alternatively, you can also access the Paper Tape by going to the "Tools" menu and selecting "Paper Tape" from the dropdown options.

Steno Layout:
Compare with Steno Layout: Once the Paper Tape window is open, use the provided image of the steno keyboard layout to compare your key presses. This will help you ensure that your keyboard matches the correct steno layout and that all keys are functioning properly.
Open a Text Editor: Launch a text editor on your computer, such as Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac).
Begin Typing: Using your steno keyboard, start typing words with the appropriate steno keystrokes. You should see the translations appear in the text editor while your keystrokes are displayed in the Paper Tape window in Plover. Example below:
Your keyboard is now set up and ready for use with Plover. Best of luck, and happy typing!
